TO BOOK DIRECT OR ASK A QUESTION #bookdirect PHONE 014737354343 Thankyou for another great week in Southwold at Chestnutt Cottage. Saturday we arrived in amazing sunshine to a clean cottage and busy Southwold . @ days of rain followed and then SUN SUN SUN . Beach hut fun had by all. Thank you for fabulous week in sunny ( for the most part) Southwold. We have really loved the cottage and no 108- grandchildren fascinated by the jellyfish eggs on the beach. A perfect stay. Brilliant location - out of the hustle of Southwold High Street traffic and ideal for walking/cycling into Southwold, and for setting off easily to go inland to some of Suffolk's other great attractions too. Love being able to walk direct from the cottage across the marshes/common to the Harbour, along Blackshore to the beach and then along to the pier and home over Reydon marshes - no tarmac or traffic fumes en route. Great to have secure undercover cycle parking and an off road space for our car. Cottage itself comfy and attractive and well equipped with all we needed, a really good base for a relaxing break, fresh air and birdwatching. And so many good food shops and eateries in easy reach..especially the Southwold butcher for meat, the Harbour for fish and Reydon village shop for local grown veg...and the Randolph a short walk away when you don't want to cook . Not surprisingly we are repeat visitors. Thank you Lottie for your lovely pictures. We are so very glad you had such good holidays. We love looking at all the pictures you have drawn for us in our visitors book. You must , by now, have many, very happy memories of your holidays in Southwold. This beautiful collage was made by the Huttton family . We were very pleased to see that they all thoroughly enjoyed their Southwold holiday in Chestnutt Cottage and are delighted to find their joint work of art in our visitors' book.
The beach hut is available (to rent) by visitors who choose to stay at Chestnutt cottage. The hut is on Southwold Promenade near the Lighthouse and is highly recommended by all who have taken advantage of this option.

A wonderful stay at Chestnutt cottage - drinking Ghost Ship at The Lord Nelson, walks along the harbour and drinking coffee and eating toast on a sunny Saturday morning in the beach hut , watching wild seas.
Tip- great fish and chips at Mrs.T's at the harbour.

"3 yrs on the trot and another super holiday! Our toddler loved the simple pleasures of beach life - hut sand, stones, paddling. As ever our walk to and from the beach hut justified a yummy ice-cream or fish and chips- note we found ace fish and chips at the pier- even better than Marks!
Bought super fish from the hut at the harbour and made smoked haddock and prawn chowder with it.
Enjoyed a day in Woodbridge- lovely cafe in the park.
Lastly people with children, note the newly done playground near Southwold Church ( Tibby's Triangle ) is fantastic.
PS Don't miss the Under the Pier Show at The Pier."
