Drive along narrow, winding lanes, across the flat Suffolk landscape of the Deben peninsular to eventually arrive at a vast expanse of undulating shingle, stone waves extending as far as you can see towards the horizon. Watch the kite surfers - amazing! skimming the surface of the lagoon at great speed- an incredible display of acrobatics , strength, skill and agility- a joy to watch. As the tide comes in they 'jumped the bar' setting off towards the horizon, flying further up into the air, lifted by the winds. Today, we met their coach-who is obviously very good at his job indeed. He even offered to teach us!
We are a family of artists who love Suffolk and Southwold. I am a paper maker with an interest in surface texture often using junk mail pulps to create images of the Suffolk sea, , skies and landscapes.
